For the foodies that we are, we decided to try out the Sunday brunch at Renaissance (Powai) and we must say that it was amazing and a huge spread variety of food.
To start off we just thought of checking out the buffet, and to describe it, it was “ lots and lots of things to EAT..”
We started off with one of our favourite – Chaats.
They had a variety in their chaat counters which included Pani puris, Sev puris, Raj kachori, Pav bhaji etc. We started with the pani puri and it was just too good with a mix of tangy and sweet taste. The next was the Rajkachori, the raj kachori was so far the best I had ever had. The kachori was crispy with the correct amount of filling and the green and red chutnies and curd added to its taste.
Meanwhile, Milton tried some Nachos with cheese, the nachos were tasty and served as good starters.
The next we hit the main course, and started off with the soup section, there were two soups the hot and sour vegetable soup and the chicken soup, the hardcore non veg that we are, me and Milton went for the non veg chicken soup, the soup was well balanced with the proper amount of chicken, and vegetables and tasted heavenly and was very refreshing. Post the soups we tried their “Gujrati Food Section” (As appeared to us) , it included most of the delicacies from Gujrat including the ghatias, the dhoklas, the khandvis and the patras and the wadis along with long of other snacks like bhujias and sevs.
They also had a good combination of salads both veg and non veg. After eating the above we were too full to try more of their main course but nonetheless the main course also had a variety in both veg and non veg section, The pasta and the biryani tasted awesome.
They also offered softdrinks with the buffet but we would have been more happy if the softdrinks included fresh juices too, it would have been an added advantage.
It was then time for our favourite portion of the food “ The desert time”. There was a huge variety in deserts for both the cheesecakes, mousses , custards, pies and also the desi sweets like Ras malai, misti dhoi, jalebis with rabdi and freshly cut fruits. The deserts were good and were perfect and acted as a perfect end to this grand and huge spread brunch.
Overall we would say that we had a good experience at the Sunday brunch at Renniasance, to sum it up we could say “Good food, Great Ambiance along with a great location and view of the powai lake while having the food”. We would definitely come back again for this experience.
