It was weekend and both Milton and myself decided to reward ourselves for the hectic week with a small treat at the “Long & Short” – Gastrobar at Intercontinental.
Located in the Intercontinental at Marine drive this place overlooks the Arabian sea. The ambience of this place is very nice and welcoming with various types of artefacts and is an ideal place to take someone out for a date. Candles lit with soothing music in the background adds furthermore to the ambience.
We started off with Cocktails, we ordered the Apple Mojito and the Watermelon & Mint Mojito- The drinks were simply refreshing and were a perfect blend and combination of fruits and mint.
For Appetizers we started off with,
1. Tomato and Basil Soup:- The soup was very fresh and light. Having the soup gave a warm feeling and also proved to be a perfect start for our dinner.
2. Crispy chilli chicken: – Yeah Crispy chicken being our favourite, we ordered it but it was definitely different from the other chilli chicken which we get in the other places. It was perfect cooked and indeed kept its name of being spicy, it was indeed spicy enuf and tasted yummy.
3. Sichuwan Chilli dusted prawns: – This dish tasted amazing with the creamy spicy sauce. The prawns were well cooked and crispy and tasted heavenly with the creamy sauce.
For the main course we ordered the Siam Curry Bowl – It was a thai dish, with green thai curry and rice Steamed rice with herbs, The dish tasted delicious , the thai curry had perfect flavours and the combination of the steamed herb rice and the green thai curry tasted amazing.
Rack of Barbecued Ribs: – Being pork lovers, the dish Rack of Barbecued ribs caught our attention. We ordered the dish and truly it was amazing. The pork was well cooked and barbecued. There was a tinge of tangy, sweet and spicy taste. We can say that so far it was the best pork ribs that we would have had.
For Desserts we ordered Tiramisu Crème Brule – It was coated with brown sugar on the top with a creamy tiramisu and tasted pretty good. We then ordered Ms Rocky road Pancake ‘Mess’ – It indeed looked like a rocky road, with pancakes which were tasty and juicy enough and gave a banana flavor, it was topped with Brownie and marshmellows which gave it a amazing taste. This combination of pancake and brownie was just heavenly and ultimate to end the dinner with.
Overall Long & Short has a good ambience and surely knows how to keep its guest happy by offering the best of cocktails & food. We for sure will be coming back here again sooonn…. 🙂
BIG Thanks to Sujata Gowda (Associate Director of Marketing & Communication) & Akil of InterContinental for making sure we had an amazing evening at Long & Short !!!
